MEET REV. FRANKIE MORTON
The Rev. Frankie A. Morton is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana where she is the Founder of Frankie Morton Ministries (FMM), Inc. and the Ministerial Alliance for Christian Women Ministers and Christian Leaders, Inc.
She received her undergraduate education at Martin University in Indianapolis after being out of school for over 20 years to obey God’s call to properly prepare for future ministry. It was here that she concentrated her studies in the field of both Religious Studies and Psychology. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree (Summa Cum Laude), she was awarded a full scholarship to the Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis where she earned her Masters of Divinity Degree with honors.
Rev. Morton was officially licensed by the late and great Pastor Charles W. Harris, Sr., of Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church (PUMBC) in Indianapolis on January 10, 1999, immediately after she had “officially” preached her first sermon. What would follow would be history in the making for both Rev. Morton and PUMBC. On October 14, 2005, Rev. Morton became a trailblazer and catalyst for many women preachers at PUMBC when she was officially ordained by Pastor Harris and other dignitary religious clergy and community leaders in the city, making her the first woman in the church’s 40th year history to become ordained. Also, from 2004-2009, Rev. Morton served as the Youth Minister for PUMBC, overseeing the entire Youth Department, and once again trailblazing the road for women in the future.
As the Founder of Frankie Morton Ministries (FMM) (1996-present), Rev. Morton has locally hosted Annual Women’s Retreats and First Lady Conferences for 10 years where over 200 or more women have been in attendance annually. She has hosted many Annual Teenage Girls Retreats, Young Women Support Groups as well as Annual Community Father Day Banquets for disadvantaged adolescents and young men. In addition, FMM volunteers faithfully on a regular basis at the Indiana State Women’s Prison (IWP) conducting various Bible Studies as well as serving as a mentor and spiritual advisor on the Faith Base PLUS Unit to those women inmates and correctional officers who desire and seek spiritual encouragement. FMM has one of the largest Bible studies in IWP.
In February 2014, FMM launched a subsidiary ministry, the Ministerial Alliance for Christian Women Ministers and Christian Leaders, Inc. Its mission is to gather Christian women ministers and Christian leaders, locally and abroad, in an effort to edify encourage, empower, educate, and enable them to exercise their gifts and talents towards Kingdom Building and helping those who are less fortunate and in need. She is indeed a minister’s minister for the 21st Century.
The Rev. Frankie A. Morton has dedicated herself to improving the lives of others by creating opportunities and resources in the community where she has resided for over 34 years. Since 1999, Rev. Morton has volunteered on the Board of Directors for Mayfield Green Cooperative, and in 2003 she accepted the non paying position of Board President. Overseeing the vision for a community with nearly a thousand residents has taken Rev. Morton on quite a journey and allowed her to follow her passion of helping people improve their lives through community outreach. Some of her biggest accomplishments have been in the areas of community education and support. She helped create the Mayfield Green Community Resource Center and she serves as the Executive Director. For over 34 years, she has inspired and led her community to strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives.
As a mother of three and a grandmother of five, Rev. Morton believes this is one of her greatest callings. Other then fulfilling her ministerial responsibilities, she loves spending quality time with her family.
Finally, for over 22 years, Rev. Morton has preached, taught, and facilitated for various churches for different occasions through out the metropolitan area in Indianapolis, Indiana and various other cities, and continues to be sought after today as a preacher, teacher, and motivational speaker. She is truly an explosive, empowering, encourager for the masses of hopeless, helpless, and hurting people of today. As a Lover of God, and both a Worshiper and Praiser of the Lord at heart, she doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. The Biblical Scripture in Romans 5:8 that states, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” is a major source of energy and fuel that constantly motivates her to meet the needs of God’s people with a Spirit of humility and joy.
